The Canadian Premier League's two-legged semi-finals are decided on Saturday 7 November, and the newest club in the league goes into the second leg in front. FC Supra du Québec, in their first season, beat Cavalry FC 2-1 in Montréal on Sunday 1 November and take that lead to Calgary for the return at 4:00 p.m. ET (22:00 CET). Earlier in the day, at 1:00 p.m. ET (19:00 CET), Forge FC host Atlético Ottawa in Hamilton with the tie level at 2-2.

## How the play-offs work this year

The league changed its play-off format for 2026, according to its own announcement in March: the top four teams qualify, first plays fourth and second plays third, over two legs, with the higher seed at home in the second leg. There is no away-goals rule. If a tie is level on aggregate after the second leg, there is 30 minutes of extra time and then penalties. The final is a single match, hosted by the higher-seeded of the two winners, on 21 or 22 November; the league has not said which day.

Cavalry finished first and won the CPL Shield, the prize for the best regular-season record, with a 1-0 win over Vancouver FC on the last day, 25 October, according to The Canadian Press. Forge were second, Ottawa third. Supra took fourth on that final day by beating Halifax Wanderers 4-3, with two goals from Ibrahim Condé, to overtake Vancouver FC.

## Cavalry v Supra du Québec: Supra 2-1 up

The first leg was Supra's first play-off match, in the club's first season, and they won it: Zachary Brault-Guillard scored after four minutes, an own goal by Eryk Kobza made it 2-0 after nine, and Tobias Warschewski pulled one back for Cavalry in first-half stoppage time, according to The Canadian Press. Warschewski had a penalty saved and scored the rebound, according to the league's preview.

What each side needs is simple. Supra go through with a win or a draw in Calgary. A one-goal Cavalry win sends the tie to extra time. A two-goal Cavalry win takes them to the final, which they would then host at ATCO Field as the top seed. The league's preview lists Supra defender Keesean Ferdinand as questionable and says Safwane Mlah is suspended for the rest of the play-offs; for Cavalry, Adam Pearlman and Sergio Camargo, who missed the first leg, are day to day. The game is on OneSoccer, CBC and TVA Sports 2.

## Forge v Atlético Ottawa: level at 2-2

In Ottawa, Anthony Aromatario put Forge ahead after 15 minutes, Diego Gutiérrez equalised after 23, Marko Jevremović restored Forge's lead after 35 and Ballou Tabla levelled again after 43, according to The Canadian Press. Forge host the second leg at Hamilton Stadium as the higher seed. The league's preview says Lucas Cavallini has a hamstring injury and may only be a substitute for Forge, and notes that goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud saved two penalties in the Canadian Championship final. Ottawa's head coach is Gustavo Leal; the preview names Tabla, Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau, Gutiérrez and Manny Aparicio as their key players. The game is on OneSoccer and TSN.

Neither preview carried a quote from a coach or player, so this piece has none.
