Lazio came from behind to beat Cagliari 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Sunday afternoon and are now three points clear at the top of Serie A, the Italian top division. M'Bala Nzola put Cagliari ahead after 21 minutes. Gustav Isaksen levelled before half-time, and Andrea Pinamonti, a substitute, headed the winner in the 83rd minute. Cagliari finished with ten men after Adam Obert was sent off in added time.

## How it happened

Cagliari's own match report gives the sequence. Cagliari had the first shot after two minutes, when Fadera struck first time from outside the box and missed the goal. Davide Frattesi answered for Lazio in the 19th minute with a shot from the edge of the box that Elia Caprile, the Cagliari goalkeeper, held without trouble.

Two minutes later Cagliari scored. Fadera reached the byline and pulled the ball back into the box, and Nzola, falling as he reached it, touched it past Christos Mandas in the Lazio goal. Fadera did not last much longer: Cagliari replaced him with Kofler after 32 minutes, and the report does not say why.

Lazio were level in the 36th minute. Taylor flicked the ball with his heel to Tijjani Noslin, Noslin slipped it to Isaksen, and Isaksen's shot from the edge of the box went in under the crossbar. Fazzini nearly put Cagliari back in front soon after with a curling right-footed shot that went just wide. Half-time, 1-1.

Gennaro Gattuso, the Lazio coach, made three changes within two minutes early in the second half: Pedraza for Nuno Tavares and Dele-Bashiru for Frattesi after 55 minutes, then Pinamonti for Mattia Zaccagni after 56. Taylor tried a free kick from the edge of the box in the 60th minute, and Caprile saved it. Isaksen curled a left-footed shot just wide in the 80th minute. Then, with seven minutes left, Pedraza knocked the ball on, Isaksen crossed, and Pinamonti headed in.

Obert, booked in the 77th minute, was shown a second yellow card in the first minute of added time and was sent off. The referee added eight minutes, and Cagliari could not use them.

## What it changes

Lazio have 28 points from ten games, with nine wins and a draw and no defeats. Inter, who lost the Milan derby 3-1 on Saturday, have 25, and Roma are third on 24. Como are fourth on 23. Before the weekend Lazio and Inter were level on points and goal difference; this is the first time this season Lazio lead on their own, as our preview set out on Sunday morning. Cagliari stay on 13 points, twelfth in the table, with four wins, one draw and five defeats.

The next round brings the leaders a harder test. Lazio go to Napoli on Sunday 8 November at 12:30 CET. Napoli lost 2-0 at Juventus on Sunday night. Cagliari host Frosinone, who are sixth, on Saturday 7 November at 15:00 CET.

## What the market said

A betting price is a crowd's opinion written as a number, and dividing 1 by the price gives a rough chance. The last price BettingBeast's feed captured before kick-off, at 14:23 CET, made Lazio a strong favourite at 1.54, about a 65% chance. The draw was 4.48, about 22%, and Cagliari were 7.26, about 14%. Lazio, the favourite, won, though not before going behind. The Lazio price had drifted a little during the morning, from 1.49 at 06:51 CET to 1.54 at the close, which moved their implied chance down by about two percentage points.
