Como, in their first season in the Champions League, won 9-1 at Lens on Wednesday 4 November, a margin that equals the biggest win in the competition's history. On the same night Manchester City won 3-2 at RB Leipzig, Porto beat Napoli 4-1, Real Madrid won 3-2 at AEK Athens to stay perfect, Arsenal won 2-1 at Slavia Prague and Fenerbahçe beat Liverpool 3-2 in Istanbul. The fourth of the eight rounds is complete. This is what happened, and what the table looks like now.

## Lens 1-9 Como

Como led 3-0 at half-time and scored six more after the break at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. Tasos Douvikas scored three, in the 7th, 32nd and 57th minutes; Nico Paz scored in the 40th; Lucas Da Cunha in the 47th; Marc-Oliver Kempf in the 53rd; Mattia Liberali in the 62nd; Martin Baturina in the 69th; and Papaccioli in the first minute of added time, according to ESPN's match page. Lens' goal came from Aguilar in the 65th minute. UEFA writes that "Como equalled the biggest victory in the history of the UEFA Champions League with a 9-1 triumph at Lens": the eight-goal margin matches Liverpool's 8-0 against Beşiktaş in 2007 and Real Madrid's 8-0 against Malmö in 2015, and UEFA says it is the biggest away win the competition has seen. Only Bayern, who beat Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in 2024, had scored nine in a Champions League game before. ESPN notes that Douvikas' hat-trick is the first by a Como player in European competition and that Como have scored 19 goals in four games. Como, managed by Cesc Fàbregas, are fourth in the 36-club table on nine points. Lens have three points and are 33rd.

## RB Leipzig 2-3 Manchester City

City led 1-0 at half-time through an own goal by Castello Lukeba in the 37th minute, who turned in a cross from Nico O'Reilly, as UEFA describes it. Ridle Baku equalised in the 49th minute; Enzo Fernández headed City back in front in the 58th; Antonio Nusa made it 2-2 in the 61st; and Erling Haaland scored the winner in the 78th from Elliot Anderson's delivery, according to Sky Sports and ESPN, which agree on every goal. No player was sent off. Enzo Maresca, the City manager, said afterwards, as quoted by Sky Sports: "Champions League, Germany away, it's tough so happy with the three points." Sky Sports notes it was Haaland's 13th goal in nine games against Leipzig, more than he has scored against any other club. City have nine points from four games and are seventh. Our preview of the game is linked below.

## Porto 4-1 Napoli

Napoli lost for the third time in four European games. Jan Bednarek headed Porto in front in the 11th minute from a Gabri Veiga corner, his first Champions League goal, according to UEFA's round-up; Scott McTominay equalised from a rebound before half-time, so it was 1-1 at the break. Gabri Veiga restored the lead in the 71st minute with a shot through the legs of goalkeeper Alex Meret, as UEFA puts it; Jakub Kiwior headed a third from a corner; and Samu scored a late penalty. Claro Sports' minute-by-minute account gives McTominay's goal as the 43rd minute, Kiwior's as the 80th and the penalty as the 90th, and reports that Napoli's Rafa Marín was sent off in the 88th minute for the foul that gave the penalty. Santiago Giménez came on in the 67th minute and set up Gabri Veiga's goal, according to Claro Sports; our separate piece on him is in the Mexico edition. Porto, who had lost their first three games, have three points and are 26th; Napoli have three and are 27th. Napoli host Lazio, the Serie A leaders, on Sunday at 12:30 CET.

## AEK Athens 2-3 Real Madrid

Madrid trailed twice and won. Koita gave AEK the lead in the 12th minute, Jude Bellingham equalised in the 32nd, Pilios put AEK back in front in the 75th, Kylian Mbappé made it 2-2 in the 78th and Federico Valverde won it in the second minute of added time with what UEFA calls "a swerving effort from distance", according to ESPN's report and UEFA. ESPN reports that Koita was shown a red card after the final whistle. Madrid have won all four games and sit second on 12 points, level with PSG, who lead on goal difference.

## Slavia Prague 1-2 Arsenal

Arsenal, top of the Premier League, led 2-0 at half-time in Prague through Noni Madueke in the 9th minute and Viktor Gyökeres in the 38th, according to ESPN; Nowak pulled one back for Slavia in the 90th minute from a David Jurásek cross, as UEFA describes it. Arsenal have ten points from four games, three wins and a draw, and are third. Slavia have one point and are 34th.

## The rest of the night

Dortmund beat Real Betis 2-1 in Germany: Fábio Silva scored in the 49th minute, Aitor Ruibal equalised in the 67th and Konstantinos Karetsas, who had come on for the injured Serhou Guirassy in the 31st minute, scored the winner in the 72nd, according to Bundesliga.com's report. It was 0-0 at half-time. Club Brugge won 2-1 at PSV, with goals from Tresoldi in the 25th minute and Forbs in the 65th either side of Sano's equaliser in the 54th, according to ESPN. Viking of Norway beat Sabah 4-1 in Stavanger for their first Champions League win, with two goals from Erik Botheim; Sabah had Aden McCarthy sent off, according to UEFA. Fenerbahçe beat Liverpool 3-2 with a Vedat Muriqi header in the 79th minute, Liverpool's first defeat of this European season; that game has its own report on this site, linked below.

## The table after four rounds

The league phase is a single table of 36 clubs. Each club plays eight different opponents; the top eight go straight to the last 16, places nine to 24 go into a play-off round in February, and the bottom 12 are out. After four rounds, PSG and Real Madrid lead on 12 points, Arsenal are third on ten, and nine clubs sit on nine: Como, Barcelona, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool, Club Brugge, Sporting, Betis and Dortmund, in that order on goal difference. Bayern are 13th on eight after two wins and two draws. Inter and Manchester United have six. Atlético Madrid, PSV and Bodø/Glimt have four; Porto, Napoli, Villarreal, AEK, Leipzig, Sabah, Feyenoord and Lens have three. Slavia and Lille have one point each; Slovan Bratislava have none.

The fifth round is on 24 and 25 November, after the international break. Among the games that week are Arsenal v Dortmund, Manchester City v Napoli, Club Brugge v Liverpool and Sporting v Manchester United.
